Summer Concert

Last night showed what talented children we have in school and how lucky we are to have such dedicated staff. A wide range of performances was enjoyed by many even under such stifling conditions (maybe it’s time to move outside next year).  Over 130 children took part and as a school we are very proud of what they continue to achieve musically.  A special thanks to Miss, Sewell, Miss Taylor, Miss Scotchford and Mrs Hall for organising the event.  We had a collection at the end of the evening and raised £183.35.  Thank you so much for your generosity.  We feel it is appropriate to donate the full amount to the Burma Disaster Fund to help those affected by the recent cyclone.

House Matches Results

The house competitions for football, netball and Tug-of-War took place yesterday in beautiful sunshine.  Many parents and friends came to support this event and cheer the children on.  The sportsmanship throughout the day was impeccable and the sporting prowess was of the highest quality.  The day was enjoyed by all.

Results:

Netball House Competition:    Scott

Football House Competition:   Marlborough

Tug-of-War House Competition:            Marlborough

Thank you to all the staff who helped on the day.

Water Bottles and Sun Glasses

With the weather improving lately it is important that we protect our children from the sun.  Please could parents encourage children to bring water bottles in so they can be regularly hydrated throughout the day – we have both cold water coolers (inside) and water fountains (outside).  The wearing of sunglasses is permitted in this kind of weather to protect eyes.  However, we ask them not to be worn when playing ball games, PE Lessons and inside the school.

Thank you

MDA Needed

We require two full time Mid-Day Assistants to join our friendly lunch time team.  Hours are Monday to Friday 12.00 – 1.15pm.  If you are interested, or know of anyone who maybe, please call at the office or telephone 01376 570411.

Swimming Helpers

Thank you very much for all the support we receive from parents helping children to get ready for swimming.  This is very much appreciated by all members of staff.  However, we would like to mention that young children in pushchairs should not be brought to the swimming pool area due to Health and Safety restrictions.

Tesco Computer Vouchers

Sunday, 11th May is the last day that Tesco will be issuing the Computers for Schools Vouchers.  We have had tremendous support this year and the total so far is a massive 18,000 vouchers and we are still counting.  When this is added to the vouchers we receive for recycling mobile phones then we should be able to order several items.  Please bring in all remaining vouchers as soon as possible, as once they have been posted then any left over vouchers are invalid.  We have to send in all mobile phones by the end of next week so please drop any you wish to recycle in the box by Wednesday.  Thank you for your support and we will let you know what we have been able to buy as soon as we have the final total.
