Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome

We hope that you had a great Summer Holiday and welcome you all back to school. An exciting year awaits the children with all the staff planning to be even more creative than before, to really make the curriculum come alive. Year Group Parent Newsletters will be coming home tonight explaining the year ahead for each class.
We would also like to welcome our new staff to the school; Mrs Knowles teaching in Year 6, Miss Styles teaching in Year 3, Miss Scotchford teaching in Year 5, Mrs Harvey an LSA in Year 1 and Miss Parris an LSA in Year 5.

Football Coaches Needed

Due to Mr Murrell moving to Canada and Mr Barnes stepping down due to work commitments, there is a shortage of coaches for the Year 5/6 Football Training. The training is weekly on Mondays from 3.20pm to 4.30pm. Mr Taylor would ideally like at least two more coaches to help him run this after-school club. We have a very successful history of football in this school and would like to continue it. Parents, coaches or past pupils with the appropriate coaching qualifications are required. If you would like to volunteer or have any questions please phone: 01376 570411 and ask for Mr Taylor. Successful applicants would be subject to a CRB check. Thank you.

Dinner Money / Milk Money

Unfortunately we shortened this half-term by one week! Therefore there is a further £8.75 to pay for dinners and 60p for milk. The correct amounts are:

Dinners £57.75
Milk £3.96

Lost Property

To help the school and parents cope with lost property at the end of each day, any items of clothing etc. found lying around cloakrooms or classrooms will be collected into a classes own lost property box/bag. This will be kept near the classroom for children or parents/guardians to access when necessary. The box/bag will then be gone through at the end of the week during the start of golden time with the class. Any lost property at the end of the term will be then centralised and a date after school arranged for parents/guardians to come in and search through. Please ensure all items coming into school are clearly named. Thank you.

School Uniform Orders

There has been a problem recently with new uniform given out in class not coming home with children. In future you will be notified via your child when your order has arrived. You will then have to collect it from the office. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but it will ensure safe delivery of your uniform.

Clubs

Deatails of clubs for the Autumn Term will be located on the Club Notice board on the front wall of the swimming pool by Monday, 10th September. Letters for the clubs will be sent home accordingly. For any queries please speak to the teacher in charge or Mr Taylor.

Glue Pots

We need containers for glue. Empty plastic vitamin pots with lids would be ideal or anything similar. If you have any at home we would be happy to use them. If you could keep any in the future and bring them into school we would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

PTFA Coffee & Cake Morning

All parents are invited to our Coffee & Cake Morning next week on Thursday,
13th September to welcome new parents to the school. Join us from 9am in the School Hall. Come along to meet other parents for a chat, coffee and cake! Everybody is welcome and a play area will be provided for pre-school children.

PTFA Annual General Meeting

The AGM takes place on Monday, 17th September at 8pm in the School Hall and will be followed by wine and nibbles. All parents, teachers and friends of the school are free to attend with no obligation whatsoever and we would be very pleased to see you.
