Married to Yvette we have two daughters, Charlotte 7 and Victoria 4. Hobbies cover sports – mainstream (armchair based these days) and leisurely cycling. We’ve lived in Feering for 7 years and Kelvedon for 5 years. I strongly believe communities are extremely important to maintain to ensure village life can continue to exist in this fast moving and not so friendly society.

MARY’S
COMMITTEES
Finance Committee
The finance committee comprises a chair and is mainly formed by the Head Teacher, and the chairs of the other main committees and other interested governors. We are indebted to our finance manager, and the office staff who undertake much of the routine day to day work. Our primary responsibility is to consider the budget, as prepared by the finance manager and the head teacher which is then put forward to the full governing body for approval. The challenge to the finance committee is to propose a budget that is both sustainable in the longer term and provides the necessary resources to the school to provide the successful delivery of the National Curriculum. Once set, we review the progress of actual against budget during regular meetings and taking any action necessary if problems arise. We also look at longer term financial planning and financing of large capital projects.
Curriculum and Pupil Related Matters Committee
The curriculum committee comprises a number of Governors including, in particular, the staff Governors and the Head Teacher to whom we are grateful for the time they give. Our primary responsibility is to consider all matters relating to the curriculum of the school and pupil related matters in general. This includes; monitoring the progress of the School Improvement Plan, approving various curriculum policies and reporting to and advising the Governing Body on the statutory policies that the school has to adopt.
Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee is made up of a chair and other interested governors. It deals with all matters pertaining to the personnel working in the School. Its remit ranges from the recruitment of teaching staff to formulating personnel policies.
